How can I add a hover effect to cards in the Vision theme?

Hello,

I’m using the vision theme and I’m wondering if there is a way to add a hover effect over the cards under the slideshow. I want it to mimic the “old store” hover effect. The hover effect is described as follows: when you hover over the card, a overlay is applied over it that darkens the image. I have attached a screenshot as reference and the urls.
