How can I add a new section to only one Shopify collection page?

Hi guys, when I add a new section (ie collection list or image with text, slider etc) to a collection it posts to all of the collection pages is there a way to stop this and have that new section only add to the one collection page?

Yes, you can create a new collection template, and then assign the collection you want to use this new collection template.

First, go to customise Theme, on the drop down menu, select Collections → Create Template, give the new template a name.

Once when you have customised this new template, make sure you saved the changes. Then go back to Products in you Admin dashboard, click into to the collection where you want to assign the template. On the collection set up page, where you would put descriptions etc, you can see a section at the right hand side of the page, beneath Collection Image, there is a drop down menu under the heading theme-template. You can select the new template you had created, and then press save.

This assigns this collection to the new template.

okay so most of that worked except for when you go to some certain folders it doesnt allow you to go in instead it opens at the bottom of the screen

I am sorry, I don’t understand what you mean by certain folders it doesn’t allow you to go in? What folders are you referring to? A screen shot would be helpful.

if you go to our website and click on shop then ready to order cakes click any of the folder in there and the products show up at the bottom of the page instead of taking you into the folder
