How can I add a sub-sub-category in my e-commerce menu?

Topic summary

Issue: Difficulty creating a third-level menu structure in an e-commerce site’s Navigation (menu builder).

  • Desired hierarchy: Hardware > Screws > Metric, Etc, Plastic.
  • Current behavior: Only one subcategory (e.g., Metric) can be nested under Screws; additional items (Etc, Plastic) revert to top-level entries in the main menu.

Actions tried:

  • Used Navigation drag-and-drop to nest items as subcategories, as suggested. Dragging works for one item but does not persist for others; they remain as standalone categories.

Latest status:

  • Problem persists after multiple attempts and significant time. No confirmed workaround or configuration fix provided.

Outcome:

  • No resolution yet. Key question remains: how to reliably nest multiple subcategories under a single parent (Screws) so all three appear as sub-sub-categories.

I am having a problem building a menu. I want my menu to look like the following:

Hardware

Screws

<Metric

<Etc

<Plastic

I can create the menu Screws>Metric but if I try to move >Etc or >Plastic it wont stay under >Screws

This is how it looks now but not correct

Hardware

Screws

<Metric

<Etc

<Plastic

In other words <Etc and <Plastic are showing as there own sub-category instead of being a subcategory of <Screws, no matter what I do. Thanks.

Go to Navigation and drag the ones you want to make sub-category under where you want it to be

Thank you. Yes I tried that and they wont stay. I can drag 1 sub category under a category but the rest of them continue to show up as a category in the main menu. I have spent hours trying to fix the problem with no succes.
