How can I add an Apple Pay button to my product page?

Topic summary

A user seeks to add an Apple Pay button directly to product pages, not just at checkout.

Initial Troubleshooting:

  • Apple Pay is already enabled in Shopify Payments settings and appears at checkout
  • Dynamic checkout buttons are enabled in the Dawn theme, but only display “Buy with Shop Pay” and a “More payment options” link
  • The implementation uses the {{ form | payment_button }} Liquid tag, but documentation is unclear

Community Response:

  • Multiple users report experiencing the same issue
  • Standard solutions (enabling Apple Pay in settings, activating dynamic buttons) don’t resolve the problem
  • One user found a workaround: disabling Shop Pay entirely makes Apple Pay appear as the primary button, though this isn’t ideal

Current Status:

  • No definitive solution has been identified
  • Shopify Support was contacted but provided no follow-up or resolution
  • The discussion remains open with several users seeking the same functionality—specifically displaying Apple Pay as a standalone button on product pages rather than hidden behind “More payment options”

Hi there!

How can I add the Apple Pay button to the product page? I don’t need any other buttons, just this one. I’ve found some working examples but still can’t find any info how it may be implemented.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @VladimirTs ,

Please follow the instructions below.

  1. From you admin page, click Settings on your left hand bottom corner

  2. Click Payments

  3. Under Shopify payments, click Manage, then go down to wallets, and check Apple pay

  4. Make sure to SAVE. You need to scroll down to see the SAVE button

You can try if the Apple pay shows if you open your website in apple device.

Hey mate,

thanks, Apple Pay is already enabled and displayed on checkout.

I need to add that button to the store — to the product page.

Have you tried enabling the dynamic button on your theme?

Yeah, forgot to mention that: I’ve enabled dynamic checkout buttons on Dawn theme — but it shows just the “But with Shop Pay” button and the link saying “More payment options” that leads to checkout.

This snippet is implemented with this tag:

{%- if show_dynamic_checkout -%}
    {{ form | payment_button }}
{%- endif -%}

but I can’t find if it’s even documented somewhere.

Any ideas?

Hey, just wondering if you had any luck with this? I am having a similar issue

Has anyone managed to find this out because I had someone on fiver who has done it for me before but I cannot find him.

have you has any luck? I have the same issue

What can I say… I also tried to ask Shopify Support, they told me that they will ask their technical team and will let me know soon. And guess what happened? Nothing, as usual, they just don’t care.

Also trying to find a solution

Hi @VladimirTs ,

I couldn’t find an effective solution for this issue.
I recommend contacting Shopify support directly to seek their assistance and find a proper resolution.

Hi!

  1. Enable Apple Pay in your wallet. If you don’t have shopify payments you have to choose a payment provider that has Apple Pay.
  2. Go to your theme editor → go to product page → click on payment button → check the checkbox “enable dynamic payment buttons”

I did that, it still only shows “shop pay” and a link that says more payment options.

Hello,

I am very new to shopify so forgive me if this is not what you are looking for. I am having the same issue and what I ended up trying is just disabling shop payments and now I have the Apple Pay button as the main payment method button for the product page.

But it would be nice to just be able to change which payment method I want to show up.
