How can I add custom color filters in pipeline theme?

Hi I am using the pipeline theme

For my filters in the collection pages I want to add custom color filters

For example the color: Multicolor

It shows a grey color for any undefined color

I saw an article that says I can add a png file with the color name in my assets folder so I added a file called multicolor.png in assets folder but nothing happened when I tried that.
