I was hoping someone may be able to help me with my footer. The theme I purchased (foodie by we are underground) has no options for adding blocks to the footer. The settings to add these blocks, in one or more columns, to the footer seem to be fairly common in most themes and even appear in other themes by the maker. I want to be able to add blocks for a column of text and a column for site links. The only things I can add in the footer right now are a logo, line of text and a linklist (all of which appear only on the lefthand side with no way to adjust the placement.) It looks rather amateurish and not very polished when compared with most stores.
Is there any way, short of purchasing a different theme, to either add the missing footer options to my theme or a 3rd party app that will allow me to do something similar? The theme makers quoted me a price of $450 to add these options and that’s fairly expensive considering I could purchase a new theme for less.
Any help or ideas for fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
My problem is that, other than what you see, there is no option to add other blocks to the footer. In the free shopify themes and many others, you can add section blocks to the in the customization page by clicking a down arrow next to where it says footer (see image below). In the theme I purchased there is no arrow and only basic options for adding text, logo and linklist and no way to adjust there location.
After seeing how the free themes allow you to add columns, text, menu, heading and image blocks in columns, I find it somewhat frustrating that such a basic feature is missing from the theme I purchased. As a neophyte to shopify, I didn’t realize what to look for in a paid theme. Is there really no way to add any of the above to my footer without spending the $450 quote? No apps or anything? Thanks for your expertise.
