How can I add images to custom pages on Shopify?

I would like to add images to a custom page so that I can create a dynamic page.

I have no idea where I can upload images to the Shopify cloud so that I can use them for the page.

I have experience with HTML and CSS.

You can upload files in:

Settings > Files > …

An alternative could be to upload it to your own server or use a free image hosting service like imgur

I uploaded an image to settings > files > … but the custom page doesn’t grab onto the image, displaying the blue question mark.

Did you ever find out how to do this? The chain here stops with no real responding answer.
