How can I add multiple product variants and manage stock quantity?

Hi There,

I want to sell three different products, say 20 units of each and have multiple variant stickers that the customer can choose from.

How can I go about adding the variants and have it pull from one stock qty?

You can try our app, BYOB. It can support showing all variants of a product on a custom product page. The customers can select what they want in one place. Here’s a sample bundle on our demo store.

The app can support 2 bundle modes with variants or discount codes. Both ways can deduct the inventory when the order is paid

Not sure what you mean by variant stickers but you can set up your variants as an option of Pack size like:

  • Single
  • Pack of 20
  • Pack of 40

If each variant has multiple products you can use our bundleup app to then link all the components and quantities. There are 2 main function of our app:

1. Inventory Management

Our app lets you connect up products to correct SKUs and we then update their inventory based on the component stock level. So in your example you would bundle the 20 and 40 packs with the “Single” SKU. When the Single variant goes down in stock your packs will also adjust accordingly. The single SKU doesn’t have to be a variant but could be a completely separate product that doesn’t have to be available for sale.

2. Order Fulfilment

When you sell one of the variations the master stock level won’t reduce automatically. What our app does is update the order post purchase by replacing the order line with the Single SKU as order line which then reduces that stock. This then feeds into point 1 above where it updates all linked variants.
