Hi,
I bought the basic plan for shopify but currently I am unable to add new theme or update the theme view what should I do now
Hey @banobazar
There’s a difference between buying a Shopify theme and a Shopify plan. When you buy a Shopify plan, then Shopify allows you to keep your store live every month/year. But a Shopify theme is a one-time purchase that you can buy and apply to your website. Please elaborate on what type of error you’re facing so I can further help you.
You’ll need to upgrade your Shopify plan to a paid one to add or update your theme. Shopify Basic plan only provides access to a limited number of themes and limited customization options. You can upgrade your plan by going to the Shopify Admin > Plan and Permissions.
i am not even getting free themes option or changing current theme layout means no theme editor option is showing
Hi there, @banobazar . Thanks to everyone else who’s jumped in this thread to provide some support. I’m happy to add in some help from Shopify here to clear up the confusion that’s going on.
The Starter Plan comes exclusively with the ‘Start’ Theme, and as such, does not offer the ability to access the theme editor, or use alternative themes. You can add colors, logo, cover image, slogan, and a short description for your store from Admin under Settings > Brand section of your admin, but the complete theme editor isn’t available for use.
If you’re wanting to use the theme editor, or make use of an alternate theme, you’ll want to update to the ‘Basic’ Plan, or a plan of a higher tier.
I hope this clears up any confusion! Are you new to using Shopify, @banobazar ? I’d love to chat with you more about your business goals and the products you’re looking to sell!
