I thought I had solved this problem…guess not. I have created a custom template for a group of products. I now need to enter the info for each product. When I go to the product page in admin, however, I still see the default product template. Having assigned this product to a new template, shouldn’t that template’s layout be showing under Products so I can edit the product info in the appropriate layout?
Thanks for any help,
Andrew
@andoatagn - when you open that page in customize settings, you have an option to choose template in a drop down above which has defalt option named “default template”
click on that, it should show your template
Thank you for your response. Here’s what I’ve been doing: I go to Customize, then from the drop down at the top of the page, select Products, then my custom template. Then in the left hand column of the page, under Preview, I select the Change link, and select the product page I want to edit. This allows me to edit the content of the page in the format of the custom template. But then the changes I make are applied to all the products that share that template. I don’t want to change the template, just the content for each individual product that uses it.
Thanks (anyone) for any help.
Andrew
@andoatagn - if you want individual changes then you need
either separate template for each product (not feasible for many products) or
page builder app like pagefly
So without a 3rd party app, the only product template I can use for varied products is the default product page? That’s hard to believe. Wow…
Thank you for your help!
