How can I add tags exclusively to product variants?

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to manage some rules inside my store.

I would like to know if there is a way to add tags only and exclusively to the variant of a product.

I have been checking and in principle, when you add a tag to the product, it is also added to all its variants.

Could someone knowledgeable on the subject give me a hand?

Variant metafields need to be used here. Have you considered using metafields for your logic instead?
