How can I add VAT to each product then have the customer receipt show how much VAT has been paid?

Shopify has an automated tax system that will calculate taxes based on various pieces of information such as where your customers are based, where you and your business are based, and if you have enabled taxes on the products you are selling. Merchants using Shopify can also set tax rates manually if they wish, and have the ability to add tax overrides for specific locations and products. If you are new to the platform, I would highly recommend checking out the taxes section of the Shopify Help Center to better understand how to set up your taxes for your Shopify store.
In terms of customers knowing how much tax they have paid, order confirmation emails are sent to the customer automatically after they make a purchase and this will include a breakdown of the shipping fees and taxes they have paid. This information is also displayed at checkout before they complete their purchase. You will also be able to see this information by viewing the order in the Orders section of the Shopify admin.
