Please add my vote to the list too. Not being able to stack discount codes is really limiting. If I’m running a sale, but also want to offer free express shipping for those who abandoned cart, for example, I am unable to do this. Please bring in stackable discount codes!

- Many felt Shopify was incentivizing paid apps rather than building native functionality, viewing this as a revenue strategy rather than a technical limitation.
Resolution (June 2022):
- Shopify finally announced Discount Combinations, allowing merchants to stack discount codes (manual or automatic) and run multiple automatic discounts simultaneously.
- The feature rolled out to all eligible merchants, ending years of requests and workarounds.
I just came out with 3 new products and installed a tier pricing app that applies auto-generated discount codes in order to apply the tiered pricing discounts on the whole collection. It works great! Except I wanted to send out an announcement email with a discount coupon to my previous customers, and then I realized that they wouldn’t be able to use it anyway because the tiered discount code would get cancelled out. Now I have to either find a tiered pricing app that doesn’t generate codes but works with collection discounts and ajax… or figure something else out.
Please add my vote for stacked discount codes 
Hopefully they’ll listen to us. I don’t see it being a huge thing to implement code-wise.

please add my vote for coupon stacking. This is crucial to our business. Had I known about this limitation before setting up my whole store, I may have gone with a different platform.

I run a loyalty program where I have added some code to my store that will work out what discount set to apply based on the tag a user has. I now want to add another discount code on a specific product but this now over writes the previous loyalty discount. So stackable discount codes in today’s e-commerce environment is really a must have option.

Why do I have the funny feeling that Shopify isnt taking any “ballot/votes” to add this feature, and are just saying this to shut us all up?

Hi Peter,
Please add our vote to this request - we would be using these in numerous ways to reward repeat customers via our loyalty program in combination with seasonal offers.
The suggestion of locksmith is a good one but we offer highly personalised products which we have already had to develop custom code to handle, this if we are offering free engraving on first-time purchases while this could be tracked in locksmith it would create the issue of having to rewrite this code entirely or alter it significantly.

Can you please add our shop to this request too! We’re desperate for the ability to stack discounts but we’d rather not pay a monthly subscription for an app to do it!

Me too! I tried an app but it conflicted with both our them and with another app from the same company. So, “apps” would be bad enough if all they did was take your money, but then they don’t work either. Shopify really needs to listen to their customers and implement this feature, which I think is pretty standard in ecommerce platforms.
It’s a bit silly that this standard issue is not implemented already. I imagine this is simply a few lines of conditional code and a the standard barrage of testing.
This issue should not be marked as solved, and definitely takes my vote.
We also desperately need stackable discounts in order for our loyalty program to work. Please implement this!

This is insane!!! Its a simple MUST have for any store> We would have never used shopify if we had know this simple feature is not available on it. Are you kidding us SHOPIFY??? Will be switching over for sure if this does not get solved…

There’s years of merchant pleas for multiple discount support on this forum, so presumably it’s a ‘monumental task’ for Shopify (but strangely not other shopping sites… hmmm).
Could Shopify at least ‘start small’ and allow both 1 automatic and 1 manual discount on the same order? Lots of us want to offer basic volume discounts (as they save everybody on shipping costs and effort, etc.) automatically, plus discretionary rewards for new/repeat customers, promos and such.
The usual Shopify cop-out of ‘buy an app for that’ doesn’t work, as people in this thread have explained those apps conflict with other apps.

Multiple automatic discount is very common practice. People buy 2 get xx disc AND get more disc if they buy 3 or 4 or any number that a store want to give for the customer… and this can be happened at the same time… this is how retail doing their promotion… this is not something new… even before online shop, this multiple disc type of promotion running in the same time has been a common practice for conventional retail store…
