My blog URL says https://cosmicserenityshop.com/blogs/blog
How can I change that to say .com/blog?
It simply says, Blog, in navigation.
Thanks,
Jeanne

Hi there, @JeanneM13 . Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the Shopify Community today with your question around your store URLs. My name is Imogen. Itâs good to meet you!
Currently, users are unable to customize the URLs that are used for the different pages on their site. This means that you wouldnât be able to adjust how your URL looks for your blog pages. This is because the pathing of your URLs is incredibly important for your Search Engine Optimization, as well as ease of navigation for your customers.
Of course, weâve received lots of feedback around this limitation, and folks have asked that we revisit this and provide the ability to customize URLs. Though I donât have any information to share on when such a functionality may become available, Iâm happy to make our developers aware of your desire to do this task, as well as the âwhyâ behind it. You can trust that our developers will see that youâre looking to be able to customize your URLs, and theyâll keep that in mind when working on future updates for Shopify.
Thanks, Imogen, for your reply. I thought it was odd that the URL would end in âblogs/blogâ and not just blog. I donât understand where the plural âsâ comes. (Iâm a curious person and I like to KNOW things.) ![]()
I do understand the important of URLs for SEO purposes. While I have you here, I have another URL question.
When preparing a product for publication, the URL picks up the title that comes from the supplier, which is usually a lot of keyword-stuffed mile-long words. I shorten the titles to suit my store. Then, either I change the URL to suit, or the system does it for me. THEN I publish. Thatâs okay, right? Because the original gibberish was never live?
Thanks.

its âblogsâ because you have multiple blogs on the same store:
/blogs/blog
/blogs/news
/blogs/XYZ
etc.
Hey again, @JeanneM13 ! Imogen here!
To answer your 2nd question, youâre totally fine to do things that way! Youâre right that the product titles used by suppliers are long and keyword stuffed (this helps you find them on the supplierâs platform). Youâre more than welcome to change the product names to whatever you like! Instead of having those keywords in the product name, you can instead put them in your product descriptions; that will help with SEO!
I do?
Hey again, @JeanneM13 ! Hope youâre doing well!
I just wanted to jump in to expand on @JoshHighland 's comment. The way the blog URL structure is set up allows for you to have multiple blogs, each with their own specific url for SEO purposes. When @JoshHighland mentions you have âmultipleâ blogs, theyâre just highlighting that, if you were to have multiple blogs, one would have a URL with ââŠblogs/titleofnewblogâ as opposed to your previous blogs. Itâs sort of why the URL structure is set up this way and canât be edited - each blog you create gets a fair shake at performing well SEO-wise!
Imogen,
Ah! The light just came on. Now I understand. Thanks for taking the time to explain further. ![]()
