I made a test order and saw that the url name is the original name what I signed up to shopify. Since I bought a new domain which is much more nicer than the orginial one, I have not found a way to change the url on the thank you page.
The url on the thank you page contains something like this: “thenameofthestore”.myshopify.com
This is a great question! You can make changes to the Order confirmation email that is sent to the customer after making a purchase by navigating to Settings > Notifications. Once you make it to the Notifcations of your online store, you can select the Order confirmation email to make edits to it. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:
The Thank You page that is provided to your customer can be revisited after they have made their purchase and is also called the Order status page. The URL that is provided to the customer will use the primary domain. You can check and change the primary domain by navigating to Settings > Domains and select the domain that you wish to make the primary domain.
Did you recently receive a purchase and notice that the T**hank You page is displaying the .myshopify.com URL? If you can confirm that your custom domain is selected as the primary domain, the checkout URL may be displaying the older primary domain when the purchase was made.
Looking forward to your response, let me know what you think.
I appreciate the screenshots and context that you have shared as that is very helpful! That is very interesting to see that the .myshopify.com URL is still being used for the checkout, would you happen to have another example of this occurring? With that being said, could you also let us know when you changed your primary domain to www.finestrends.com?
Since I cannot verify you as the store owner over the Community forums due to the sensitive information that would need to be shared, I am unable to look into the internal setup of the store.
I created the account like 4-5 weeks ago and I have changed the primary domain 2 times. Finestrends is the second domain. I changed to finestrends to like a week ago. The problem has been from the beginning. We can talk somewhere in private and I can confirm that I am the owner.
In this case, I should suggest reaching out to our live support to have a further look into the setup of the store. You can reach out directly by logging into your online store using the Contact Us page. This will allow us to securely verify you as the store owner.
Once you successfully login, you will be directed to the Help Center. You can select the topic that you would like assistance with to locate the option to Get Support and speak with a Support Advisor about the checkout URLs.
