I’ve looked around but I haven’t been able to find a solution. We have a bicycle store and we sell bikes online. Now every bicycle has its own serial number we need to track.
I.e. We have 10 bikes at size small each one has its own serial number right, now I can only put one serial number to the 10 bikes available listed online. I would like to list all 10 serial numbers so that when we sell one the we know which bike sold to any specific person. So when my employees go and get the bike that sold online they know which one to grab and we keep track.
I would like to know if there’s a way or an app that will allow me to list all 10 sku to a variant.
The purpose of the SKU is to track the product being sold down to the model/variant. If you wish to track each of your products, you will need to implement a serialized inventory. You can use this to track individual units using unique serial numbers. This is usually done using an inventory management system (outside Shopify).
I hope this helps. By the way, are you looking for high-quality products for your dropshipping store? You Should try Spocket. Would it be acceptable if your employees picked any bike of the same model and added its serial number to the order line item while picking the bike? If that’s the case, you may want to try Serializer - Product Tracking.
With the app, you can
Associate serial numbers with order line items. You can type in the numbers manually or scan them using a mobile device’s camera or a barcode scanner.
Quickly search the item by its serial number and pull up the customer and order information.
