Does anyone know if there is a way, either via 3rd party app or Shopify Flow, to automatically edit or delete certain line item properties once an order is created?
Background: we have a 3rd party bundle app that is putting a bunch of superfluous attributes in the line item description, and those are making their way on to our packing slips in ShipStation. Some of the line items we need for fulfilment, but there are bunch of underscored attributes such as _bundle_id and _bundle_parent we don’t need. See pic.
I don’t think there’s a way to edit line item properties after the order has been placed.
Couple ideas for solutions:
Ask the bundle app if there’s a way to modify that text, if you don’t like the way it’s presented, or ask them if they can put it somewhere else (I’m guessing they’re using that data for something, but maybe they can put it in order details, or tags or something)
Another option if you have an app (ShipStation) doing packing slips, maybe they can modify the packing slips to not include this part
Thank you for the response. The app developer does need that data unfortunately, but I am checking to see if they can possibly put in in to the metafields instead. Shipstation can hide that part of the packing slip, but it also hides some other data that we need to fulfill the order.
I see. If they can hide that part of the packing slip, another option then would be to put the other data you need to fulfill, in the order notes section.
