Hi, How do I backup and restore blog posts?

It’s always a good idea to keep copies of your content, product descriptions, pages, and so on. This is because Shopify is not a backup service, nor do we store data. As per our terms of service section 7, our services are offered “as is”. So when a storeowner such as yourself uses the platform, you are therefore exclusively responsible for your data.
There are several ways of backing up your store, however, when it comes to blogs you cannot export those and will need to copy/paste them into a document.
If you did ever have the horrible experience of accidentally deleting blog posts, you may be able to recover this information by checking the cached version of your blog via Google:
You would need to search for specific blog post names > view cached version > grab article title > add article title to google search > view cached version.
I will also share this with our developers as a feature request, but there’s no guarantee if or when this may be implemented. So for the time being, you will want to look at some of the workarounds I shared above.

So sad this is no backup option for blogs.
At least downloading CSV of blogs should be offered.
I completely understand your thinking and have passed that feedback on internally. What kind of content do you create on your blog? And what is it that you’re selling? I’d love to know more about your content strategy and how you’re reaching out to your target audience!
What does it really matter what shop owners blog about? It’s valuable content and should either be backed up automatically when downloading a backup or have a simple export function like customer data, gift cards and so on. It can’t be that difficult to implement such a basic function.
How shopify is not allowing to integrate full store backups (including images, blog articles etc) with common cloud services like icloud, google drive and so on is just unsafe. For shopify and shop owners. It’s 2023! It’s so easy these days to integrate backup solutions.
I understand that Shopify wants to sell as many 3rd party apps as possible, but let me tell you this: should my store go south and I loose all the data I will be more inclined to go to a different provider.
We’re keeping a backup shop with woocommerce in case shopify goes down altogether.
There are a bunch of third-party apps that can backup your store data including blog posts, for instance, I’ve just installed Talon backups for my client. I also know rewind but they are more suitable for bigger businesses in my opinion.
