How can I better communicate minimum order amounts for shipping?

I have set up my shipping prices and minimum order amount but if a customer tries to check out below the minimum order value they just get a message saying we don’t deliver to their area. Obviously, this is losing me sales and usually, they only need to spend a couple of pounds more to reach the minimum.

I have looked at minmaxify but it looks like you have to set a minimum or maximum order amount across the board.

I deliver free to local communities with no minimum order but for nationwide deliveries, they need to order a minimum amount to ensure the product says frozen for 24hrs.

One possible workaround for this is to change the language used in the error message so that it’s more clear to the customer why they’re not getting a shipping option. This help center article for our app explains how to do this. This guide pertains to Shopify settings only, so you don’t need to have our app installed to follow the guide.
