Hey @Jenbluebuttons ,
I have a few recommendations for you:
First, I think your domain is not setup properly. I see that you have bought the domain bluebuttonsboutique.com but it is redirecting to your .myshopify.com domain. Check your domain configuration.
Second, I would recommend rethinking the strategy of showing a newsletter popup immediately upon entering the store, as it can come across as spammy and may deter customers from signing up.
Third, in your policies, it’s best to use your own domain email address instead of a public email address like @gmail.com, as it will appear more professional and trustworthy.
Fourth, I recommend revising the header navigation items to include deeper links to your collections, such as “Leggings”, “Denims”, “New Launches”, “Bestsellers” etc. This can help customers quickly navigate to the products they are looking for and also showcase your best-selling products or unique product offerings.
Fifth, I recommend reviewing and improving the text of your shipping policy to make it more customer-friendly and easy to understand.
Sixth, I recommend adding good-looking size charts to your product pages. This can help customers understand the sizing of the products and make more informed purchase decisions.
Seventh, consider adding product reviews or store testimonials about your service in general to your store. This can help build trust with potential customers and increase conversions.
Eighth, I recommend improving your contact page. It’s important to include a contact name and address on your contact page to build trust with potential customers.
Kind regards
Hi Jen! Thank you for sharing your store URL. I can see that @TobiasDalhof has already shared some great feedback for you to consider and I definitely second their suggestions.
A few things that I wanted to focus on was what I noticed within the first few minutes on the site, to help you better understand your customer perspective:
When viewing the store on Desktop/Laptop there is a lot of empty white space at the top of the page. I would move the header logo into a full size banner image to replace the static images you have at the top of the store. This way your brand is showcased and can include your headline text and even a button to start shopping.
I definitely agree that your store navigation could be more robust. It takes a lot of clicks/scrolls in order to find and start shopping on a collection. The navigation menu in the header with both “Collections” and “Shop” is a bit confusing and could be more inviting. Breaking the shopping experience down so customers can be easily guided to their preferred collections or items is always a better experience.
I also recommend editing your product photos so that they are all the same size. This can be done using a free online photo editor or a more advanced image editor if you have one. Uniform columns and rows are much easier for customers to browse when exploring large catalogues.
I recommend taking a look at some competitor websites or brands that inspire you to see how their online shopping experience flows. This will help you with making some finer tweaks to improve your online store.
Hi @Jenbluebuttons ,
This is Victor from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App. After looking into your store, I have some comments below:
Here are some good points I can see from your site:
- You provided product media from different angles, which gives your visitors chance to view your products more clearly
- Allow quick view of products
- Hover effect for buttons: make these buttons stand out
I have a few more comments to make your pages even better:
HOME PAGE
1. Redesign your hero banner
- Instead of having 3 images for your hero banner, you can try using one that focuses on what your store is selling
- Try a different font family and color. The current text is a bit hard to read
- Design the button “Explore Now" that captures buyers’ attention
This one is the perfect example:
2. Make a sticky header
A sticky header allows customers to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements whenever they scroll up or down on the page.
3. Add ratings to your products
When customers browse your page, they will find star ratings useful. This lets them know what products are trending and get positive feedback from similar buyers.
4. Showcase your Instagram or other social profiles
As usual, social media is one of the effective ways to get more traffic and make a good connection with your customers. Display social media such as Instagram and constantly update the feed.
5. Show your policies
Information on shipping and payment should be made clear in the first place. You should include this information below the hero banner. When the customers actively know your policies, they will be more likely to make purchases.
Take this one for example:
PRODUCT PAGE
1. Use swatches as selectors for color variations
Users who cannot easily determine all the color variations a product comes in may overlook options they would prefer and prematurely abandon a product that could have been suitable.
The solution is that you use swatches to display and select color variations (not dropdown).
You can check this image for reference:
2. Adjust price styling
Your product price is too small and unnoticeable. You can increase its size so buyers can notice it from the moment they enter the store.
3. Display minimum of 6 reviews by default, with the ability to load more
Users’ reviews are very important in online shopping. To increase conversion rate, it is advised that you have a review section where customers can read true reviews of your products. And you should display a minimum of 6 reviews by default. A too-short list of reviews prevents exploration and pattern detection.
Furthermore, for the upcoming Valentine’s Day, will you run any campaigns? Here are some promotion ideas for your campaigns, I hope they will be useful for you.
1. Personalize Your Offer for Valentine’s Day
Gift-giving is almost like a ritual on Valentine’s day. You can make the most out of it by offering products around Valentine’s theme.
- If you already have products that people buy on Valentine’s Day, give them a little touch of love. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling a digital or a physical product.
- If you don’t have a physical product, you can still curate special Valentine’s Day offers around your services that can be used on Valentine’s Day like “two for one” or “buy one, get one” deals.
2. Mention Your Delivery Time & Rates Clearly
Delivery time is one of those things that can make or break your business. And if it’s some holiday, buyers take the delivery dates too seriously. To convert these visitors into potential buyers, mention your delivery dates clearly across your website, app, and emails. Also, specify the last date to place an order to reach on time.
3. Create Gift Guides
As mentioned earlier, Valentine’s Day is the season of gift-giving. But, when it comes to finding a perfect gift, people have what’s called a perpetual dilemma.
You can do this by making Valentine’s day gift guide. Break the guide into sections based on gender, interests, or personality traits like this:
- By Category: Valentine’s Day gifts for her/him, couples, teenagers
- By Price Range: Best Valentine’s Day gift under $25, $50, $100
- By Interest: Gift ideas for art lovers, dog lovers, and foodies
Warmest regards,
