How can I cancel all subscriptions and deactivate my online store?

I have Shopify and I was trying it out. I used the free trials on the apps it suggested and didn’t realize it would continue to charge me after the free trial was over. I tried to cancel the subscriptions and they just give me a run around answer by email, saying I need to pay and then they will refund. I tried deactivating my store online but it says all charges must be paid first. I haven’t used anything from the trial apps and my shopify account is paid. As for the other subscriptions, well the credit card I was using has been blocked by my Dad. No one can charge to it anymore and he says I don’t have to pay first then get a refund. So please help me cancel everything and deactivate my store. All my account information needs to be deleted. I’ve tried to call and email shopify but I just get run around answers with that too. Can someone help me?

Hi there, @Wantables .

Welcome to the Shopify Community!

I understand that you had some apps installed during the free trial and noticed you were billed for each app after the free trial. You mentioned that you tried cancelling the subscription but didn’t receive an effective response via email. For better visibility, are you able to advise what communication or guidance was shared?

When it comes to apps, recurring app charges are generated the first time an app charge is approved, and then on the first day of an app’s billing cycle. Because of this, a charge will appear on your bill even if you uninstall an app only a day or two after you install it. If you want to request a refund or credit for an app that you purchased from the Shopify App Store, then you can use the Get support button to contact the app’s developer, this is located directly on the app page. The developer might approve or deny your refund request, depending on the circumstances. You can check the app’s listing page or the developer’s home page to see if they have a refund policy. If the app charge was processed using Shopify, then the app’s developer can issue you a refund or give you a credit. Credits will be applied towards any future Shopify App Store purchases. All credits that are applied to Shopify App Store purchases are documented on your subscription bill.

For your second question, if you’re looking to cancel your Shopify subscription and deactivate your store, you will need to settle your bill in order to successfully close the store. As per our Shopify Terms of Service - Section 5.10, we do not provide refunds. However, if you contact our support team via the Shopify Help Center, we may be able to review this on a case by case basis.

If you have questions on the information shared above or how to navigate the Help Center, feel free to share them here.
