Now I closed my shop already. How could I cancel my domain name?

Sorry for all the frustration you might encounter with your Shopify store.

Our community can help you out, why do you want to close your online shop?

What is getting you frustrated?

To remove your third third-party domain provider.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains
  2. In the Third-party domains section, select the domain that you want to remove.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • If your account is on the Basic Shopify plan, then click Remove.
    • If your account is on the Shopify, Advanced Shopify, or Shopify Plus plan, then click Manage > Remove.
  4. Click Remove again to confirm.

After you remove a third-party domain, you can change your DNS settings in your domain provider account to point it to another website. If you want to use your domain name for your Shopify store again after you remove it, then you can reconnect it again from your Shopify admin**.**

Further, are you looking to transfer this domain away from Shopify to another provider, or are you just looking to ensure this domain does not continue to automatically renew in the future?

Thanks for getting back to me here to confirm that.

As your store has already been canceled, the domain will not be automatically renewed in the future, as your store is considered offline, even where ‘auto-renew’ had previously been selected for that domain.

The exception to this would be for .de domains purchased before September 23rd, 2019, so let me know if your domain fits those criteria!

Other than that, let us know if you need any help with transferring that domain away, or if we can help with anything Shopify-related at any point in the future.

I’m busy so sorry for the late reply. My domain name purchased before September 23, 2019. Then there is a way to check my domain will not ‘auto-renew’ or not.
