How can I cancel my inactive subscription effectively?

I am trying to cancel my Shopify subscription for good and unable to do so.

I am getting charged $43+ for a service I don’t use and I have 1 store that’s inactive.

Everytime I try to access .y store, it says my free trial has expired and brings me to a payment plan.

How do I get rid of this? I’m trying to get rid of it before next month comes for another bill.

Hi, @Mrwafflwz . I’m happy to help you out with this! If there’s anything we can help with before you close your store, I’m happy to look into that with you as well.

To close your store you will need to follow the steps explained in this guide. To prevent charges please make sure that any stores you have, that are not being used, are completely closed. Even if a store is inactive, if it is not closed completely you will still be charged. If you are having any trouble as you try those steps, please let me know and I can walk you through it some more. You can also contact our support team through the Help Center here for help with this.

Sometimes merchants make additional stores by mistake so I’d also recommend you double check that you don’t have any open stores you aren’t aware of. You can use this page to do this. When you enter your email address onto that page you will receive an email listing any accounts associated with the email address you entered. If you have multiple email addresses I recommend trying each one. If you do happen to find an account you weren’t aware of, you’ll want to follow the same steps I shared above to close the store.

Let me know if you have any questions! This guide on unknown charges can help in the meantime as well.

I Erin. Thank you for the response

I clicked on the link you provided to deactivate my store but I keep getting sent back to this link:

https://admin.shopify.com/store/636cd2/access_account

And I can’t move further until I select a plan.

Hi, @Mrwafflwz . Can you walk me through the steps you’re taking before you see this page? For example, do you see this immediately after logging into your account?

If you’re unable to get into your Shopify admin without first selecting a plan, it typically means that this store is not active. If you didn’t select a plan and enter your billing information before your free trial ended, you would not be charged for this store. In this case, I recommend going through the steps I shared in my last post to try and locate any additional stores that may be charging you. This guide on unknown charges has more information to help you locate where this charge is coming from as well.

Happy to help if you have more questions!

Here is a video of what I have been dealing with.

Hi, @Mrwafflwz . Thank you for that screen recording!

The store shown in the screen recording is inactive and not currently on a plan, which means you are not being charged for this store. In fact, if you are seeing this “select a plan” page before you can access your admin, it typically means you have not even entered billing information for this store. If you are being charged by Shopify, it would have to be from a different account. If you haven’t yet, please go through the steps I shared previously to try and locate any additional stores you may have created.

You shouldn’t need to do anything else to close the store in your screen recording since it is inactive and no plan is selected for it following the end of the free trial. That being said, if you’d like to be sure it’s not charging you and will eventually close on its own, please reach out to our support team here so we can review it with you. We can’t see your account details here over the Shopify Community, but we can look into this in more detail if you speak with us through the page I shared. In some cases we can also close the store on your behalf.

Thank you for the reply.

I do have an existing account that I made but can’t remember the email for it.

I’m trying to see if there is a way to locate it through the card payments are being made out of
