SOS - Hello! I have a product launching tomorrow and need to change the button text from “pre-order” to “add to cart” but I am unsure how to do that. It is definitely a coding issue that I can’t seem to find. Does anyone know how I can do this?! The theme template is on default as well. If anyone could help me ASAP that’d be amazing!
Hi Mackenzie,
If you find it daunting to do some coding, installing Pre-order apps for Shopify from the app store can help you with this.
Thanks.
Greetings, @Mackenzie4 .
Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!
I understand that you’re looking to change the button text from “pre-order” back to default, and you need help finding the code in your theme. So that I have the right context, did you have someone modify your theme to allow pre-orders previously? Also, which theme are you using at the moment?
If your theme was customized using our guide, Product pages - Allow pre-orders for products, then you can simply toggle/change the templates by editing the products. You can also try using our guide to locate the Add to cart button text and changing the text.
If the default template was modified or you’re not sure where to find the coding, then you can trying rolling back to an older version of your theme by reverting changes on the product page (eg. product.liquid). You can also see if this is something the community can assist you with or consider hiring a developer to help you with customizing your theme. That being said, if you need help finding a developer, then I’d encourage taking a look at our directory of certified developers on Shopify Experts.
I’d love to hear more about your business! What kinds of products do you sell? Also, do you run ad campaigns at the moment or do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?
