How can I change deactivate my account if I’ve forgotten the deactivatation code

I need to deactivate my store but have forgot the password and don’t know how to change it or deactivate it without the password

I understand that you want to deactivate your Shopify account but aren’t sure how, as you have forgotten your password. I am sorry to hear that you want to cancel - were you experiencing any difficulties with your store that perhaps I could help with? Feel free to share your experiences here and either myself or other members of the Community may be able to help you out.

You will indeed need your Account Owner password in order to be able to cancel your account and close your store. If you have simply forgotten your password then you can reset it - we have more information on our help center here which explains how you can reset your password. After resetting your password you should then be able to log back in to your store, and close it.

For instructions on how to close your store, as well as other information you can refer to this helpful resource here. The general steps involved in closing a store are as follows: navigate to the Settings > Plan section of your Shopify admin and then click Deactivate store and follow the following prompts.

There are some things to consider before you go ahead and cancel your account. If you need to keep anything from your store then it is important to download/back it up before closing the store. If after closing you change your mind, you can re-open your store within 2 years by logging back in and selecting a new plan and your store data will be intact.
