I have just bought a business which has a shopify website attached to it. I want to change the name of the website to my business name, and I also want to change the URL to my business name. How can i do this without having to purchase a new shopify site?

I understand you’d like to change the name of your website to reflect your business name. This can be done directly within your Shopify admin under Settings > Store details. I’ll share the steps and screenshot below for better visibility. You can also check out our help center resource for more information on updating your store details.
Update your online store name and legal name:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings.
- Click Store details.
- In the Profile section, click Edit.
- Enter your online store name and legal business name.
- Click Save.

You can also update the name that appears on your homepage/web browser bar. This can be updated within your Shopify admin, Online Store > Preferences section.
In regard to your second question, if you’d like to change the URL to your business name, you can purchase a custom domain to reflect your business name. You can buy a domain through Shopify to simplify the setup process. If this domain is the first domain that you add to Shopify, then it’s automatically configured to be the web address that’s displayed to customers. If you already use a domain with your store, then the new domain automatically redirects to your primary domain. You manage all your domain settings from your Shopify admin. You can first search for the availability of the domain through our domain name resource.
