It sounds like you may have entered the wrong SSN when setting up your Shopify Payments account and now wish to change it?

I understand why you would want to get this updated as quickly as possible, as you most likely cannot verify your documents because the information provided doesn’t match the official documents.

You can’t actually change this number yourself, as once Shopify Payments is set up the information is locked in. As @marcoswata has kindly suggested, you will need to reach out to our support team by using this link here. On the Shopify Community we are unable to access any of your account information, so we can’t fix this for you here. However, using my link above we can authenticate you as the Account Owner and help you get the SSN changed over to the correct one!

Is this a brand new Shopify store? I’d love to hear how everything is going so far. Do you anticipate being set up and selling in time for BFCM? It’s a huge weekend in terms of sales, so I would recommend having a think and putting some preparations in place now. If not this year, then perhaps this information will be handy for next time - Shopify Black Friday/Cyber Monday Tools.

It sounds like you have clicked the link to the Shopify Help Center, and are wondering where you need to go to get in touch with our support team - is that correct?

Our Help Center looks a little bit different now, and you should see a Help Center Assistant chat window in the bottom right of the page. You will need to first interact with this assistant, and type in your query.

If the provided resources and information that the assistant suggests are not sufficient to solve your specific issue, then you can select the ‘I still need help’ option at the bottom of the window and follow the instructions. Feel free to explain to the assistant about your requirements and it will dynamically provide the best solution to you, such as allowing you to connect with our support team directly if that is necessary.
