Hi all. Currently we are running our www.dyrheimar.is under https://dyraland.myshopify.com/ but I would like to have the same name for our Shopify back-end account as our web page, ie https://dyrheimar.myshopify.com/ which is also owned by me/us. Can this be done and how? Obviously, I do not want to close down the shop www.dyrheimar.is to do this. I appreciate any suggestions on this ![]()
Hey @Steinar .
Thank you for posting in the Community! This is a great question and one that comes up quite often. Regrettably, it’s actually not possible to change the .myshopify.com domain name associated with your store. At this stage, your .myshopify.com URL would only be visible to you or any staff when logged into the Shopify admin. If you have set www.dyrheimar.is as you primary domain, then this is what your customers and visitors will see, they will not see https://dyraland.myshopify.com/ as this is only used for the back end. This myshopify.com URL will solely be a identifier between you and Shopify!
By the way, I wanted to mention how much I adore your site! You can tell a great deal of work has been put into it so well done on that! I’m a big animal lover, myself, so I love seeing websites such as yours. By the way, I actually went to check your storefront and I like the way you made it as simple and customer-friendly as it is. I’d recommend that you add a chat functionality so that online visitors can right away message you if they have questions about a specific item. In that way, you’ll be able to build trust and reliability with your buyers. Click here to explore more!
Have a great day.
Hi @Maz and thank you for giving your time to help me. I knew this was something that our customers would not see, but liked to possibly have the harmonised look in place ![]()
Thank you for your feedback on our site and I will check your suggestion on customer interactions.
Cheers!
