How can I change the color of my search bar and suggestions?

Hello, I am trying to change the color of the search bar and the suggested search items to match the rest of my theme. I want the background to be #262626 with white text #FFF. I have attached the search bar and suggestions I want to change. And an example of what it should look like.

I appreciate that you have provided us with those screenshots as that is super helpful! Just to gather a bit of context, could you let us know which theme is live on your store? As this will determine the next steps to change the color of the search bar and suggested items search.

If you are unsure about which theme is live on your store, you can navigate to the Theme Editor and select the three dots appearing towards the top left of the page. I took a screenshot from my test store to show you the section I am referring to:

Thanks for the quick response.

Looking into the Dawn theme, I didn’t see a specific way to change the color of the search bar and suggested search using this Theme Editor. However, it is possible to make a change on the theme’s coding to have it displayed as you would like. Since the Dawn theme is designed and supported by Shopify, we can use free design time for Shopify themes to allow our internal team to make the changes on your behalf.

live support was of no help. I sent them our conversation and the person i chatted with disregarded it and tried to help with things that didn’t work. How else can I verify because I mentioned it in the live chat and nothing happened.

Did you happen to inform the Support Advisor of the changes you would like to make to Search bar, by any chance? If so, the customization for changing the color of the search bar and suggested search may require a significant coding change. Additionally, if you have a third-party application that is assisting you with the search bar - these would be limitations of our Design Policy.
