How can I change the default URL on my 404 page?

Hey there!
Wondering if anyone would be able to help point me in the right direction…

I’m trying to change the default /collection/all url to /collection/all-products.

Where would I go to change this? I tried the 404.json but it’s not there.

Hey @CarrieT ,

You can change the URL of your collections by going to your Shopify Admin, then to Products > Collections. Click on the collection you want to edit, then scroll down to find the URL and Slug section. Change the URL to “/collection/all-products” and save your changes.

Hey there! thanks for jumping in,

My apologies but I wasn’t clear.
On the 404 page, the default button ‘Continue Shopping’ is directing the user to an old url. I changed the url on the collections page from collection/all url to /collection/all-products. But the 404 page is still pulling in the old url. Any ideas where to make this edit so it’s pulling in the new url?

To change the URL for the “Continue Shopping” button on the 404 page, you can do the following steps:

  1. Go to your Shopify Admin and click on Online Store.
  2. Select the Themes option and then click on the Actions button next to the theme you want to edit.
  3. From the drop-down menu, select Edit Code.
  4. In the Templates folder, click on the 404.liquid file.
  5. Find the line of code that contains the “Continue Shopping” button and its URL.
  6. Replace the old URL with the new URL, “/collections/all-products”.
  7. Save the changes.

This should update the URL for the “Continue Shopping” button on the 404 page to your desired URL.

As mentioned, the 404.json file (in the templates folder) does not carry any code to allow me to change this information. I’ve removed the section all-together and created a new one from scratch instead. Thanks for your time.
