Those images you see in the Google search snippet are from your site’s metadata and how Google has indexed your site—you can’t upload new images to Google outright, but you can control what appears. Here’s how:
- Freshen Up the Images on Your Website
Overwrite or upload high-quality product pics on the page that matters (probably your homepage or product line page).
Ensure the images are big, crisp, and well-optimized (good resolution, descriptive image file names).
- Use Structured Data (Schema.org)
Insert Product, Organization, or WebPage schema into the page.
Add the image property with URLs of the desired images.
-
Add / Update Open Graph & Twitter Tags
-
Request Re-Indexing in Google Search Console
Search Console → URL Inspection.
Insert the page URL and click Request Indexing after your changes.
- Be Patient
Google makes the decision on which images to show.
Changes could take days or weeks to appear.
Google indexes the information from your store and displays those images. You can change the images in your store and then request that Google reindex them, but it may take some time for the changes to be reflected.
It depends on whether your theme or SEO app (if any) sets the appropriate structured data, e.g JSON LD. If the structured data includes the product images, they will be reflected in the Google search results.
At the same time, you should submit your site to the Google search console, which can help Google to scrape your site regularly. If you haven’t submitted your site yet, you should definitely submit it now
