I’ve shortlisted 3 CRMs. I want a 60-minute DIY matrix: what 6–8 criteria would you use, how would you weight them, and what’s your tie-breaker if scores are close (trial task completion, support SLA test)? A simple template link would be gold.
Topic summary
Goal: select a CRM using a quick (≈60-minute) DIY evaluation matrix. The requester asks for 6–8 scoring criteria, suggested weightings, and a tie‑breaker method when scores are close (e.g., trial task completion, support SLA test). A simple, reusable template link is specifically requested.
Latest input: one reply advises first documenting expectations and required features, then comparing shortlisted platforms against that list to see which best matches needs.
Outcomes and gaps:
- No concrete criteria list, weights, or tie‑breaker framework provided yet.
- No template link shared.
Status: unresolved/ongoing. Key open items include defining the exact criteria (6–8), assigning weights, choosing a tie‑breaker approach, and locating or sharing a simple scoring template.
The best way to choose a CRM is to write out your expectations and features you would be needing from the CRM, then go through some platforms and compare which one satisfies your request the most.
I’m interested to build a CRM specifically for Shopify. What are your top three needs?
Hi @FeatureDe
Me and my team use these seven criteria: Shopify Integration Depth, Ease of Use, Automation Capabilities, Reporting, Support Quality, Pricing, and Email Features. Assign each criterion a “weight” from 1 to 3 based on importance to your business, then score each CRM from 1 to 5.
Multiply the score by the weight and sum the totals to see which platform objectively meets your most critical needs.
Hope this helps!
Start with what you actually need the CRM to do. For most Shopify stores, the basics are email, customer profiles, and simple automation, not a full sales pipeline.
If you want something simple and cheap, Shopify’s built-in customer tools plus email can go pretty far early on. If you need a more traditional CRM with pipelines and notes, HubSpot is a common pick and has a usable free tier. If your focus is retention and marketing rather than sales, tools like Klaviyo often replace a CRM entirely.
Pick the lightest tool that solves today’s problem and make sure it integrates cleanly with Shopify.
