How can I connect Amazon POD with Printify without a GTIN number?

I’m trying to connect my shopify store with Amazon using Marketplace Connect. The problem I am having is the GTIN number you have to use for Amazon. I use Printify for my products, so there is no GTIN number. I’ve searched for a solution and cannot find one. Can someone help please?

As Printify: Print on Demand is considered to be a third-party app, you will want to connect with them directly. This will allow the app developers to take a closer look into this request and provide some clarification on how you can workaround this limitation.

To connect with the app developer, you can head over to the Shopify App Store and scroll down to the ‘Built by Printify’ section to view their support options.

I was however, able to locate this Document that touches on using GTIN’s and how to request them. I’d encourage you to check this out if you haven’t already, as it may provide everything you need to know in order to successfully set this up.

Joy V here from Marketplace Connect support. If you do not have valid barcodes available for your products, you can either purchase the barcodes via GS1 (www.gs1.org) or request an Amazon GTIN exemption.

GTIN exemptions may be requested via your Amazon Seller Central by following these steps:

  1. Select Menu > Catalogue > Add Products and click I’m adding a product not sold on Amazon.
  2. Choose the category and product type that applies.
  3. On the Product Identity page, enter the product name and brand, and under External Product ID select the “I don’t have a product ID" checkbox.
  4. Click Apply Now and complete the application form.

Upon approval, please inform us and share a copy of the approval either through chat or by emailing us at marketplace-connect@shopify.com. This will allow us to assist you in activating the exemption on your Marketplace Connect account and making the required adjustments for you to list on Amazon without the necessity of barcodes/GTINs.
