How can I continue setting up my live online store without it being complete?

I am new to setting up my online store. My store is Live and it’s not complete. How do I continue setting up my store without it being Live?

You can add password protection to it, so that only users with the password can see the site until you are ready to go live.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Preferences.

  2. Scroll to the Password protection area, and check Restrict access to visitors with the password.

  3. In Password, enter the password that you’ll give to the customers who you want to be able to access your online store. Don’t use the same password that you use to log into your admin.

  4. In Message for your visitors, enter the message that you want to show on the password page. If you don’t want to show a message, then leave this field blank.

  5. Click Save.

As @MatthewLeeHess has shared, you can enable a store password if you’re not ready to launch yet or you can share the store password with only users you’d like to have access to your website prior to launching.

  • Add your products to your store, including product descriptions, images, and prices. Be sure to organize your products into categories and collections for easy navigation.
  • Determine your store’s shipping rates and methods. You can choose to offer free shipping, charge a flat rate, or calculate shipping charges based on the customer’s location.
  • Before launching your store, test it thoroughly to ensure everything is working correctly. Test your payment gateway, shipping methods, and checkout process.
