Hey guys, I just noticed my payment icons are all messed up on the cart page. Any idea how to fix it? Screenshots below
Topic summary
Issue: Payment icons and buttons appear misaligned on the cart page; screenshots provided. Store is password-protected; access password “pk” shared.
Diagnosis: Likely an invisible PayPal element creating extra space between buttons. A CSS workaround was mentioned but not provided and flagged as not the correct fix. Removing PayPal was suggested only if it’s not needed, but the merchant requires PayPal.
Latest guidance: Suspected incomplete PayPal setup rather than a theme issue.
- Confirm PayPal is enabled in Shopify: Settings > Payment providers > Choose third-party provider > PayPal.
- Verify the PayPal account is fully set up, verified, connected to Shopify, and without restrictions.
- Test checkout in live mode (not test mode), as PayPal may not appear in test mode.
- If the issue persists, contact Shopify Support for configuration-specific help.
Status: Unresolved/ongoing. Action items are to complete/verify PayPal setup and test in live mode; escalate to Shopify Support if needed.
Notes: Screenshots are central to illustrating the layout problem.
Hi @paigekiaraaa ,
Your website is password protected. can you provide me with the password? So that i can see which element is messing up the design?
Thank you

Hi @paigekiaraaa ,
Have you been usisng paypal payment?? The space thats between two button is taken by paypal which seems to be not visible.
The following CSS might help, however this is not the correct solution. If you are not using paypal, please remove it as payment option.
Thank you
hi @theycallmemakka , I have not yet gone live with my store therefore no payments have been processed. I’ll be launching it in the next day or two, so I would love to have this fixed. definitely going to need Paypal as a payment option please. thank you!
Hi @theycallmemakka , is there a solution to the above please?
Hi @paigekiaraaa ,
I believe the issue you’re experiencing may be due to an incomplete PayPal setup. To address this, you can follow these troubleshooting steps:
-
Confirm PayPal Integration: Please double-check if you have correctly integrated PayPal with your Shopify store. To do this, go to your Shopify admin, navigate to Settings > Payment providers, and make sure PayPal is among the activated payment methods. If it’s not enabled, select “Choose third-party provider” and opt for PayPal from the list.
-
Verify PayPal Account Configuration: Ensure that your PayPal account is properly set up to accept payments. Ensure it’s verified and connected to your Shopify store. Additionally, review your PayPal settings for any restrictions or limitations that may prevent PayPal from appearing as a payment option.
-
Test in Live Mode: Ensure that you are testing the checkout process in live mode, not in test mode. In test mode, PayPal might not be available as a payment option. To switch to live mode, place a real order or disable the test mode in your Shopify settings.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, I recommend reaching out to Shopify Support directly. They can investigate further and provide specific guidance based on your store’s setup and configuration. It appears that this issue is more related to the payment gateway rather than the theme.
