Hi
When I google my website my homepage is not showing up, instead, it’s indexing XYZ.com/collections/frontpage and not XYZ.com/. I checked the sitemap.xml and it looks incorrect as my homepage is not there.
I want to add a sitemap that I generated as per Google WebMasters but it seems like Shopify is not allowing me. Is there a way my sitemap can be corrected?

Shopify generates the sitemap automatically, you don’t need to use any third-apps nor providers to generate the sitemap.
When you search for your website on Google, it’s possible that Google shows one of your pages which corresponds best to your search query – this means that Google might show another page than the homepage.
What’s your website URL? Let’s check if the homepage is in the sitemap. Btw. I wrote a guide on how to successfully submit your Shopify sitemap to Google Search Console. If interested, here’s a link: https://www.nikikozak.me/shopify-qa/2022-08-22-sitemap-submit/
You can find the steps to follow in the guide. Hopefully, it will help you solve the issue.

I think your solution worked. My domain sitemap looks exactly like the screenshot in no 3. : https://www.nikikozak.me/shopify-qa/2022-08-22-sitemap-submit/ . Although this is not the exact sitemap I wanted, my homepage is now being indexed after following your instructions. So happy with that. Thanks!!
