How can I correctly manage product variants in my kids' furniture business?

Hello there-

i have a question regarding product variants - i hope i can explain it correctly.

i have a kids beds / furniture business and there are 3 options that i am currently using

  1. Size 2. Colour of bed 3. Mattresses to purchases. The beds come in 3 sizes - Single, three quarter and double.

however When i add all the options , the inventory then populates the all the bed sizes to irrelevant mattress sizes

for eg : ‘single bed, grey colour , 3/4 mattress’ - which is obviously not possible as only a single mattress would go with a single bed. is there a way of eliminating that - or do i have to go an delete everyone of the irrelevant ones individually once it populates it. seems a bit time consuming

hope this is clear

thanks

Hi @bambinoboutique ,

Can you provide your store URL. We can check and let you know.

HI there,

thank you for your response. i am obviously only building my store now so nothing is live but here it is in the interim ..i think - i just copied and pasted it from the web browser, Sorry i am not the most tech savvy of individuals .

i have another question with an example.

how do i add another product option within the product - here is my issue:

I only have 3 ‘options’ to use in variants - can one add more ?

and - i want to be able to add for eg ; kids bedset linen within that product - so if the client was to make a purchase - they could go through the checkboxes -‘size’ ‘coating’ 'mattress size and then below would have another section to purchase / add the linen to the price/checkout ..?

many thanks in advance

Hi @bambinoboutique ,

As I understand it, you have two different products: beds and mattresses. And both those products have their own corresponding variants.

To keep those variants distinct, and to avoid the mixing of variants that you’re getting currently by combining them into one product, you will need to sell the mattresses and the beds separately as two distinct products.

Now I also totally understand that you want a customer to be able to buy a bed and then have the appropriate-sized mattress included by default. While there is no native feature to do this, you could always look at using a third-party app (here is a list of the best Product Bundling Apps in 2022).
