How can I correctly set up tax collection for EU customers on my online store?

Hi Everyone,

Our shop is located in France, and we will be selling in European Union and abroad. This means that we need to collect taxes ONLY in European Union and that’s it, for all other countries we don’t need to collect it.

My question is how to set it up correctly on Shopify. I went to Taxes and Duties sections and selected ‘Include or exclude tax based on your customer’s country’ But it seems to me working not properly, because one second it shows extra 1000 euros of taxes, another second - 1050 euros for the same selected country. + It includes taxes right away to the price.

I need it to work next way:

  • the price shows without any taxes all the time for all countries

  • when you select country to ship in the cart only then it shows you Taxes.

Is it possible to do?
