Hi, I’m trying to create a custom “Sort By” tab. For my store, it’s super important for my store for there to be an option to sort by colour. All our products are tagged with their colour in the tag area, and also I’ve created a metatag and copied across their colour to this metatag.
You have to install a app for this.

You can do it without apps, depending on the theme. You could try this:
- Search & Discovery app (the Shopify app which is probably automatically installed - )
- View filters
- Edit filters
- Tick the ones from your added metafields at the bottom
If the first step isn’t there, try this:
- Online store
- Navigation
- I think the filters are on that page, again you can edit the and tick on your added metafields.
Depending on the theme, that should make a “filters” section appear on the collection pages. If not, you might have to edit the theme in the visual editor and turn on filtering.
I’m using the Sense theme by the way.
