How Can I Create a Direct Checkout Link for Abandoned Cart Recovery?

Hello,

Is there a way to create a checkout link that directs customers, who previously visited my site and added items to their cart, straight to the checkout page? I’m working on abandoned cart message templates and need a default checkout link for all customers who went to the checkout but didn’t complete their purchase.

Yes, Shopify does provide a unique link as part of the Abandoned checkouts resource (https://shopify.dev/docs/api/admin-rest/2024-04/resources/abandoned-checkouts). The parameter is called “abandoned_checkout_url”. This will lead customers directly to the checkout page where they abandoned earlier.

Thanks for your reply, but I’m not that technical. So if my store is Domain.com, what will be the default checkout link that I can send to customers?

A single link won’t work for all abandoned carts. Each abandoned cart has it’s own unique link. Are you trying to send out emails to customers to recover the cart ? If yes, Shopify does provide a native feature: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/create-marketing/abandoned-checkouts
