Hello! I am trying to create a Filter for a specific Collection, and not create one globally. I prefer to not use an app as well, I am comfortable editing the theme so I don’t mind if the solution requires code. I am using the Focus theme. Any solutions or possible alternatives would be great, thank you.
Topic summary
-
Objective: Implement a filter that applies only to a single collection (e.g., “Author” for the Books collection) in the Focus theme, without using an app; custom theme code is acceptable.
-
Clarification: The filter should not appear on other collections (e.g., Jewelry). The author is also open to other ways for customers to further refine products within collections.
-
Status: No technical solution or steps have been provided. Another participant reports having the same issue, indicating it remains unresolved.
-
Notes: “Collection” refers to a Shopify product grouping; “Filter” is a faceted attribute customers use to narrow results. No code snippets, images, or attachments were shared.
Thank you for your response.
For example, let’s say I have a Collection titled “Books” and one titled “Jewelry.” I want to create a filter for Books called “Author”, but I do not want the filter to appear on “Jewelry.” Does that make sense? Is there a different way to allow customers to further filter through collections? Thank you in advance
