One of our products comes with a pdf. The product itself has the URL printed on the inside of the box. When you visit the page https://www.abeectoys.com/pages/101-things-to-make-and-do it asks you to enter your email and click sign up. Doing so does absolutely nothing, doesn’t send the customer an email never mind the pdf.
What I would like to do is change this page to include the pdf rather than the whole sign up business, I would rather customers just had access to the pdf themselves. However, I have absolutely no idea how to make this happen. I have uploaded the file into files on shopify. My only options when creating a page are to use either the sign up template contact template or the default. When I choose default, I have no option anywhere to actually add anything into it. Does anyone know how I create a page with the pdf in either to be downloaded or viewed by our customers?
If what you want to do is to have a permanent link printed on your products, which will always lead your customer to a PDF file, there are a few ways to go about it.
1. Embed the PDF into a Shopify page
You can upload your PDF file to Shopify and get the file URL.
Then through iframe, you can place the PDF within a Shopify page you create.
Then you can share the Shopify page URL on your product.
2. Use a 3rd party hosting service
Alternatively, use a third party hosting service like Google Drive / Dropbox / Titlegram to host your PDF.
These services would generate URL for your PDF that you can share and place on your product.
I was under the impression that you have more than 1 PDFs that you want to share with your customers, but it seems like you only have one PDF. In that case, Pawan’s solution is on point.
For anyone who is be looking to share multiple PDFs on a page, you can try the File Search Box & Download MP app. It lets you create an embedded widget that comes with file search and file categorization, so customers don’t have to scroll through hundreds of PDF to spot that 1 file.
OMG! Thanks so much! This worked great! Is there code that can be added so that this side bar doesn’t open like this or to protect it from being downloaded?
