I’m currently in the process of building a shopify site for my bbq business. We’re looking to offer a pre-order menu service online, wherein our customers would be able to select the food items they want - for pickup or delivery - and pre-pay for our friday delivery.
The long and short of that - we would like our food menu to work similar to just eat - a simple one page menu and checkout process, but we can’t find any apps that offer this service.
We sell merchandise, t-shirts etc, via the standard shopify shop but would like a separate menu/order page. Is this possible?
To create a pre-order food menu for your BBQ business online, start by outlining your menu offerings, including descriptions and prices for each item. Utilize a website builder or e-commerce platform to create a user-friendly interface where customers can browse your menu and place orders easily. Incorporate high-quality images of your BBQ dishes to entice customers. Implement a secure online payment system to streamline transactions. Consider offering special deals or discounts for pre-orders to incentivize early purchases. Lastly, promote your pre-order menu through social media, email newsletters, and other marketing channels to reach a wider audience and drive sales.
A good reference for building an online pre-order system is to look at how established restaurants structure their digital menus. The yard house menu, for example, is clean, categorized, and easy to navigate, which makes it simple for customers to browse and place orders without confusion. You can replicate a similar layout on Shopify by creating a custom collection page with product variants acting as menu items, then using a pre-order or scheduling app to manage pickup and delivery times efficiently.
