How can I create a side-page checkout experience?

Hello Community! I’m looking to replicate a checkout experience that keeps the user within the main page of the site. Example: https://oliveandjune.com , when you add a product to cart you control it all from the right side of the page. Can someone point me to an app, template, or coding resource I can use to learn how to do this?

You’d be looking for a “slide-out cart” or also known as a “cart drawer” which a number of themes include as an option within the theme settings. For example, the free theme “Express” offers a cart drawer that can be enabled by following the steps below:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

  2. Next to Express, click Customize.

  3. Click Theme settings.

  4. Click Cart drawer.

  5. Adjust the cart settings:

    • To enable the cart drawer, select Show cart drawer.
    • To enable order notes, select Show cart note.

  6. Click Save.

If you can’t find this feature in your theme, then you could look into using a slide-out cart app or hire a Shopify Expert to create this for you.
