I was able to “create” a new page template called “image-gallery,” but I am afraid it is in name only. What I am trying to do is to create a three column image gallery that doesn’t connect to anything. I’d like when you click on the images for them to just expand. I just created two new pages where I’d like these image galleries to appear. I really don’t want to mess around with collections because I want to save ‘collections’ for other uses in my website at a later date. Is there a simple non-coding way to do this? For instance should I just insert a table?
Topic summary
A user wants to create a three-column image gallery on their Dawn theme Shopify store where images expand on click, without using coding or collections. They’ve created a page template but need help implementing the gallery functionality.
Proposed Solutions:
-
One responder suggests creating a custom template and adding a gallery section, noting some customization code may be needed
-
Another recommends the Easy Content Builder app (free), which can create image galleries without coding. The app allows images to go fullscreen when clicked
App Features Highlighted:
- 100% free to use
- Creates responsive galleries (examples shown: 3-column, 6-per-row, and 2-per-row layouts)
- Includes other free content blocks (Featured products, Image with text, Video, Buttons, etc.)
- Demo links and screenshots provided showing various gallery configurations
Status: The discussion remains open with the user evaluating whether the app-based solution meets their needs for a no-code implementation.
oh sorry for that issue yes please create new template add your gallery section if not so it can be done some customization code
One option for your consideration: you can easily create an image gallery without coding using Easy Content Builder app (it’s free). The image will go fullscreen when you click on it.
Since the app is 100% free, you can test it to see if it’s a good fit.
Here’s a three-column image gallery created by the app: https://easy-content-builder-demo.myshopify.com/products/clothing (the Gallery is right below the video section).
A side note: you will find other content blocks available for free, too, like Featured products, Image with text, Video, Buttons, etc.
