I need help in developing and re-design my Shopify upsell flow. We tried several Shopify plugin like “Aftersell app”, “Reconvert upsell app”. However, we noticed all these upsell flow can only supported with a simple one-click product upsell page (showing with product image, simple description and price). What we prefer is after the customer paid at checkout page, they will directly directed to our OTO (one time offer) upsell page: [https://xyz.com/pages/abc(not](https://xyz.com/pages/abc(not) to one-click upsell: simple product page) before heading to final thank you page ( showed total purchase). Our proposed ideal upsell flow (similar to Sales letter page upsell flow or a.k.a Clickbank upsell flow) will be as following: Main Page (Add to Order) – Checkout (Payment)-- Upsell Page (One time offer- Add to Cart) – Total at Checkout & Thank you Page
Please help me how can I achieve this??

What you’re describing—sending the customer to a fully custom landing page (on your own /pages/… URL) after payment and before the thank‑you page—isn’t something Shopify’s native checkout flow currently allows. The post‑purchase upsell step is part of Shopify’s checkout extensibility framework; it’s designed to display a one‑click offer in a predefined layout and then return the buyer to the order status page. Redirecting to an external “sales letter” page mid‑checkout isn’t permitted under Shopify’s checkout policies, and apps like Aftersell and Reconvert are bound by the same limitation.
From the tools you mentioned, BiSell Upsell & Cross Sell is the closest fit because it offers checkout and post‑purchase upsells using Shopify’s official extensions. You can customise the offer’s content and styling and even include a longer description or video, but the page itself must reside within the post‑purchase extension, not at an arbitrary URL.
If you need a ClickBank‑style sequence where the customer lands on a bespoke upsell page hosted in your store, the only workaround is to take the upsell out of the checkout entirely—e.g. email the buyer a link to your OTO page after purchase or send them there from your thank‑you page. However, this breaks the single‑click purchasing experience and may reduce conversion. In short, within Shopify’s checkout flow there is no supported way to redirect customers to /pages/abc between payment and the thank‑you page; any app that claims to do so is likely violating Shopify’s terms.
For a compliant solution, I recommend using a post‑purchase upsell tool like BiSell that leverages Shopify’s extension API. It will let you present a tailored offer immediately after payment, track acceptances and revenue, and then automatically return the buyer to the order status page.
