What are the best practices for writing SEO-friendly titles and descriptions for Google Shopping from Shopify? What I personally recommend for titles is to use all 150 characters for the title, but focus on the first 85 characters and place your most important search terms first.
To know what you should use, is to do some research, first use your own data, a good place to look at is your google search console, and your google ads keywords, see what is used.
Then use 3rd party tools such as spyfu, or even google trends to find more relevant search terms to be included.
As to descriptions, I recommend that you at least add 500 characters. Use the first 145 characters to properly explain what you are selling, as that is the part that consumers see on ads without clicking on the more button.
So this is important. You can have up to 5000 characters, however, you don’t need to create such big descriptions, between 500 and 1000 is good enough.
