How can I customize button shapes in the Dawn theme?

Hello! I’m using Dawn as a starter theme and I’d like to customize the shape of the buttons to be more like a parallelogram. Slanted sides like this…

I know I have to edit the liquid code somewhere but I’m not sure where or what code I need to install to achieve this. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated! Thanks!
