The Debut theme has this default filter but seems to be picking up all of my product tags.
Instead I would like to filter by brand, size and some selected tags (not all).
Shopify support articles indicated going to my store>navigation and scroll to Collection and search filters. But I don’t have this section in my navigation section.
This is my first time creating a store, I appreciate the help.

Debut theme currently supports filter 1.0 with product tags, so you can’t add filter at navigation. You want to add filter in Navigation when you use filter 2.0, support with 2.0 themes like Dawn. Refer https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/customizing-themes/storefront-filters
Installing an app for it will be the best and simplest solution, you can refer to the following app: https://apps.shopify.com/product-filter-search or https://apps.shopify.com/search?q=Product%20Filter%20%26%20Search
You can also edit the code to theme it, but this is a complicated requirement and you need to hire experts for it.
