I tried to deactivate my store on 4 Dec and there was a message that said I have to communicate with costumers support to do that and because I couldn’t find an email or something to do that my store was still active and now I can’t deactivate the store unless I pay 250€ because my 3 months of 1€ are over… unbelievable and unacceptable nice scam …
Topic summary
-
Issue raised: A merchant attempted to deactivate their Shopify store on Dec 4 but was told to contact customer support. Unable to find contact details, the store stayed active; after a €1-for-3-months promo ended, they now say deactivation requires paying €250, which they find unacceptable.

Guidance provided: You can deactivate from Admin > Settings > Plan > Deactivate Store (official help article linked). If logging in prompts you to choose a paid plan, it likely indicates the store is already deactivated.
-
Recommended next steps: Try the in-admin deactivation path. If access is blocked or status is unclear, contact Shopify Support directly to confirm store status and address billing concerns.
-
Status: No confirmed resolution in-thread. Advice given; outcome pending merchant follow-up.

If it’s prompting you to pick a paid plan when you try logging into your store, that probably means you’ve already deactivated the store. You can reach out to Shopify’s support directly though, for confirmation.
